The long wait is over! Agents of SHIELD Season 1 ended last Spring with a few different cliff-hangers. Over the course of last summer, many viewers caught up on AoS, in hopes of the second season being better than last.
To be fair, the first half of season 1 was rough, but the show was infinitely better in the second half. I’m hoping that season 2 will be the same quality as we left off with.
So what should we be on the look out for tonight?
The Absorbing Man
The Absorbing Man, a character from the comics, has been confirmed as the villain for tonight. Played by Brian Patrick Wade, the Absorbing Man will be a good inclusion into the MCU. For more on him, check out the article I wrote earlier this year.
Lucy Lawless, known for Xena Warrior Princess and, more recently, Spartacus, will be joining the cast of Agents of SHIELD as a regular agent.
Also joining will be Mockingbird, AKA Bobbi Morse, a regular character from the comics. For more on her, check out this other article I wrote about her casting.
Actor Nick Blood will be joining as Lance Hunter, another character from the comics. Hunter eventually became leader of STRIKE in the comics, an organization similar to SHIELD, but taking a more offensive approach. Not a whole lot is known about Hunter’s roll in AoS, although it sounds like he may be replacing Ward as one of the physical fighters of the team.
Agent Peggy Carter
Agent Peggy Carter, of Captain America: The First Avenger, will be in this episode. It will be more than likely a flash-back, possibly introducing more of her TV show, which was announced about a year ago. Also reprising their rolls will be Kenneth Choi and Neal McDonough, playing Jim Morita and Dum Dum Dugan.
Also reprising his roll will be Adrian Pasdar, who played Glenn Talbot in season 1. If you remember, Coleson and friends gave Talbot the slip, and I bet his return won’t be friendly.
You can bet on this being a high intensity episode. AoS will have learned their lesson from last season. They’ll come out of the gate with some big news and some big explosions. Count on it. For that reason, I am excited a lot for this coming episode.
So that’s what is in store for tonight’s episode. There’s bound to be more than what I can cover in this one article. It’s on at 8/9c. Check it out!
