Falcon and Quicksilver talk the Future

One of the most common ways to get information for future marvel movies comes from interviewing the actors involved. Although there are undoubtably agents briefing actors before going into interviews, actors are still fallible humans who can tell us a lot about the future. Anthony Mackie and Aaron Taylor Johnson recently gave such interviews.

Anthony Mackie, the actor who played Sam Wilson (AKA The Falcon) in Winter Soldier recently talked about the plot of Captain America 3. Although this is a long way away, looking at 2016, we got the beginning of a very rough outline of the movie:

“Cap and Falcon go looking for the Winter Soldier. They find him. They go through traumatic ordeal of him transforming back into Bucky. Then, once he goes back to Bucky and we get all the craziness out of his head, then we become a three-man duo. Hes got a shield, hes got an arm, and hes got wings and we go out, and we save the world. Cue theme song. And then we go beat up Batman and Superman.”

DC crossover here we come. But in all seriousness, it’s good to hear that it will basically pick up where Cap 2 ended, if this information can be believed.

Aaron Taylor Johnson talked about his roll as Quicksilver. He gave a lot of good information:

“There’s years – over 50 years – of backstory on him all there to use, and I like doing that. Him and his sister [Scarlet Witch] have been abandoned by their parents and their father, and they grew up in Eastern Europe defending and looking out for themselves and each other… His sister really is his guidance – emotionally she’s the one who looks after him, and vice versa. He’s very overprotective physically – he doesn’t want anyone touching her.

“He has real anger frustration – I like that. I always thought it’d be quite funny if you saw him eating loads and people asked him why and he’d explain it’s because he’s burning so much energy all the time. Or ideas that you’d see him come back round – but he’s already nipped out and got his lunch somewhere else. He just got bored – his attention span is so fucking quick.”

That sounds a little bit like the portayal given by Evan Peters, Johnson’s Kick-Ass co-star. All the same, I love the idea of an angry and protective Quicksilver. It is true to the comics and a nice break from some of the other Avengers.

So the future has been given to us by the actors. I am excited to see both Cap 3 and Avengers 2, as well as the actors in their respective rolls. Bring it on!
