Not much is known about the Guardians of the Galaxy movie coming up. We have been waiting on a trailer. We have a vague synopsis. We have the cast. All around, we know extraordinarily little about the movie, except that everyone involved thinks it’s going to blow our minds.
One thing we do know for sure, however, is that the Nova Corps will be arriving in this movie. Many set photos have confirmed this, such as:
Although not quite as BA as the comics (I’m going to assume that visual effects will be used to add a little bit) these are two members of the Nova Corps.
Who are the Nova Corps, you ask?
They’re basically a galactic peacekeeping force, a little bit like the Green Lantern Corps of the DC Universe. Drafted from across the universe, the most well-known is Richard Ryder, often simply referred to as Nova.
I have long cried out for a Nova movie, so the news of the Nova Corps truly peaked my interest. Also, John C Reilly is confirmed as Rhomann Dey, the Nova Officer who eventually selects Richard Ryder to replace him.
With such an investment as Reilly into the Nova Corps, I can only pray that we will be seeing more of the corps in the near future.
I will be posting more about Guardians in the near future as I research more into the movie and into their comic origins. Check back soon.
As for my dream of a Nova movie, only time will tell.
